Our Community Vision
We are a community of environmentally and socially aware families who strive to make conscious life choices that reflect our values. We embrace Steiner education for the:
Our school community is socially inclusive creating freedom for individual expression. We honour the uniqueness that each human being brings to the world in all our interactions with each other in the classroom and beyond. The school community is an interconnected extended family providing a place for children to belong, feel loved and be valued beyond the home. Our Mission Our mission is to provide education that aligns with the conscious life choices and values of our families and to be a source for positive cultural change through Rudolf Steiner's philosophy of pedagogy which nurtures whole human beings into their full potential. We both care for and learn from the natural world. We acknowledge the important role we play in providing and creating a hub for an inspired community of families. The community surrounding the organisation is an essential part of our school and we work collaboratively with families to educate their children. Our Origins The Northern Tasmania Steiner Association Inc. (NTSA) is an Incorporated Association facilitating the provision of Steiner education to families in Launceston and surrounds. The Association was established in March 2015 and grew out of the Launceston Friends of Steiner Association Inc (LFSE) which has facilitated Rainbow Garden Steiner Playgroup since 2007. After experiencing the nurturing environment of playgroup and experiencing some of the educational methods used in Steiner early childhood (such as connection to the seasons through song, stories and craft, child-led free play, encouraging the imagination through use of simple, natural toys and props) parents were inspired to create a way for their children to continue their Steiner education into their schooling years. |
