Our School site with large open and natural spaces
It is with great pleasure that we announce the opening of our new Campus situated on approximately 5 acres, at 378A St Leonards Rd, This exciting development has enabled us to establish a permanent campus for the Tamar Valley Steiner School. In 2023, all school classes are now on this site. The property has a lovely aspect and many established gardens including a variety of fruit trees and large grassed play areas. Many people have worked tirelessly to see this project come to life, from the first members of the Rainbow Garden Playgroup, the founders of the Northern Tasmania Steiner Association, Administration and Teaching staff, to the members of the School Council past and present. Words cannot convey the depth of our gratitude for those who envisaged our school and those who have guided it. It is with deep respect and reverence that we embark on this next exciting stage of our school’s journey. Tamar Valley Steiner School Council |
Our Sites
The school is currently located on our main site at 378A St Leonards Road.
Our Playgroup is held at the Old Nurse’s Recreation hall at 41 French Street, which has been the location of the Playgroup since 2007. The classroom has been lovingly created by community volunteers in keeping with Steiner early childhood principles of design.
The outdoor area been thoroughly enjoyed by little ones over the years and has a cubby, sandpit, vegetable gardens and several unique play areas such as hiding places behind the ferns.
During 2017 and 2018, the outdoor play area was expanded to incorporate another larger area at the back of the building to create further opportunities for active outdoor play.
